London's World Beer Awards Honors Haacht Brewery with Three Medals

Boortmeerbeek, August 12, 2024 – At the World Beer Awards in London, Haacht Brewery won three medals. Gold medalist Tongerlo Bruin can now even call itself the World’s Best Dark Belgian Style Dubbel. SUPER 8 Rouge 0.0, which was just launched in June 2024, won bronze in the No & Low Alcohol Flavored category, and SUPER 8 IPA took bronze in the American-Style IPA category. These medals demonstrate the international recognition of Haacht Brewery’s diverse range of specialty beers.

“We are very proud of this result. It is a wonderful recognition of our employees’ dedication and their ongoing focus on quality and innovation, explains Boudewijn van der Kelen, CEO of Haacht Brewery.

“The innovative nature of the recently launched SUPER 8 Rouge 0.0 has not gone unnoticed. We have succeeded in bringing to market a non-alcoholic rouge beer that is significantly lower in calories and sugar than most other beers in this market segment.

In addition to the hoppy SUPER 8 IPA, our Tongerlo Bruin abbey beer has also won awards. This means the entire Tongerlo lineup has been awarded gold. In 2014, Tongerlo Blond won gold across all categories at the World Beer Awards.

“These awards attest to the top quality of our diverse product range, which we—as a family-owned brewery—have been crafting with great skill, passion, and dedication for more than 125 years, concludes Boudewijn van der Kelen.

Taste and quality are the decisive criteria in the blind evaluation process. A team of international judges individually assesses the quality of the submitted beers. A World Beer Award is therefore a seal of quality designed to help consumers in their search for delicious, top-quality beverages.
