AB and Haacht Brewery Join Forces with a New AB Café and SUPER 8 on Tap
With fresh SUPER 8 lager on tap and a farewell concert by the Belgian EBM band Front 242, the Brussels music venue AB and Haacht Brewery celebrated their brand-new partnership in style last night. From now on, SUPER 8—a local, sustainable, and 100% Belgian beer—will be flowing from AB’s taps. Eventually, both partners will open an accessible gathering place featuring a corner café in the pedestrian zone. This new AB Café will be the beating heart of the music venue’s operations and is intended to contribute to an even more immersive musical experience at AB.
With Haacht Brewery, AB now has a truly local partner at the bar. The 100% Belgian and independent family-owned brewery is located less than 24 kilometers from AB. This type of partnership aligns perfectly with AB’s sustainability policy. With SUPER 8, AB is also introducing a completely new beer experience that has something to offer for every taste: from the refreshing SUPER 8 Pils and SUPER 8 Blanche to the SUPER 8 Flandrien 0.0, for those who prefer to enjoy beer without alcohol. The robust Ommegang Tripel and the fruity Mystic Krieken are also on the menu.
“Our partnership with Haacht Brewery fits perfectly with our vision. We’re not only bringing quality beer to our venues, but also the passion and craftsmanship of a 125-year-old local brewery. Together with Haacht, we also want to create a new and welcoming gathering place with a corner café in the pedestrian zone. In this way, we’re contributing to a thriving city center and taking the concert experience to the next level,” says Tom Bonte, CEO of AB.
It’s no secret that AB has been transforming from a traditional concert hall into an open music venue for some time now. Renovation work on the Steenstraat location began last year. Thanks to a partnership agreement with one of the country’s largest family-owned breweries, the long-awaited corner café on Anspachlaan is now gradually taking shape. This venue is set to become the beating heart of the AB music venue’s operations.
“The partnership with AB is a perfect fit for our family-oriented DNA. And just like Brussels’ premier concert venue, we place great value on an authentic, high-quality experience. You can taste that in our SUPER 8, Ommegang, and Mystic beers. With a 100% Belgian approach, our ambition is to work with AB to take the fan experience to the next level. This feels like the beginning of a long and sustainable success story,” says Boudewijn van der Kelen, CEO of Brouwerij Haacht.
