Tongerlo is a line of authentic Belgian abbey beers, brewed by Haacht Brewery in collaboration with the active monastic community of Tongerlo Abbey. Shared values of respect, authenticity, and dedication form the foundation of every Tongerlo beer. Every beer in the lineup undergoes careful secondary fermentation in the bottle: a meticulous process that results in a richer flavor profile, more intense aromas, and a longer shelf life of up to 18 months. The flavor also continues to evolve over time, much like a fine wine.

Tongerlo Blond
The name says it all: LUX, Latin for “light,” is a nod to the way light reflects off this beer’s warm copper color. A copper-colored, well-balanced abbey beer with spicy hop notes, internationally acclaimed and voted the world’s best beer at the 2014 World Beer Awards.

Tongerlo Tripel
A golden-yellow, authentic Belgian tripel that stands out for its range of fruity notes and its bottle-conditioning, which further accentuates the refined bitterness of the aroma hops. In 2022, PRIOR was named the world’s best Belgian Tripel at the World Beer Awards.

Tongerlo Brown
NOX, Latin for “night,” refers to the warm, dark color of this beer. Tongerlo Bruin is a dark, authentic Belgian abbey beer with refined notes of vanilla and the delicate bitterness of dark chocolate: a beer that connoisseurs recognize immediately and that surprises newcomers.

Tongerlo Christmas
Tongerlo Abbey’s Christmas beer: an amber-colored seasonal beer with a spicy and fruity flavor, complemented by a complex aroma of noble hops and a pleasant, slightly bitter finish. Like the other Tongerlo beers, it is bottle-fermented. Available from the first to the last cold day of winter.
